Résumé: This article examines Vanilla Sky through the lens of solipsism and hyperreality, innovatively combining Berkeley’s solipsist philosophy and Baudrillard’s theory of hyperreality with LSD psychology at the micro level of the human mind, in order to show how the film stages a world where the human mind endlessly recreates the hyperreal, blurs the line between reality and imagination, and turns everything into the creation of a dream; it also proposes an alternative reading in which the entire odyssey of Vanilla Sky may be understood as Sofia’s dream rather than David’s.
